We went to the Marae with the whole school. First there was a Powhiri then we went inside the Wharenui. We saw carvings, koru patterns and weavings.

At the Museum
We visited the museum and learnt about Taniwhas and How to Make Monsters. We got to pull the handles to make the dinosaur and mermaids tail move. We saw a Werewolf but we weren't scared! We learnt that monsters aren't real, they just have machines inside.

Taniwha's
Today we read a book called The Terrible Taniwha from Timberditch by Joy Cowley.
Then we drew what we thought a Taniwha might look like.
Asiya and Nadiira drew colourful, detailed Taniwhas.
What do you think Taniwha's look like?
Tomorrow we are going to the Waikato Arts Museum to do some activities about Monsters and Taniwhas!

Swimming
We go swimming everyday with Whaea Robyn. We are learning to...
- blow bubbles
- kick with straight legs
- use turtle hands.
We love going swimming but the weather is starting to get colder and we won't be going swimming for much longer.
Can you hear the Kapahaka practicing in the background of our videos?
