Matariki Celebrations

We celebrated Matariki
our Maaori New years.

We wove and made our own taniko panels.

 Over and under

We used the traditional red, black and white pattern
which is commonly seen in many Marae settings.

Together we played Rakau or
 Maaori stick games.

We sang and did actions for  the Macarena in Te reo Maaori.

We listened to Maaori myths and legends.

Grandma in the Garden

We love to watch Grandma in the Garden.

We learn about different insects,
birds and plants we might find in the garden.

We can practice counting,
addition and subtraction too.

It's a lot fun when we do it together.

Money Apps

We enjoy playing Money Games together.
We are learning to count the
coins quickly to solve each problem.

We are learning to recognise
each coin and their value.

 What does each item cost?

.

We can find the amount needed for each item.

We know the difference -
what is less and what is more.

We can add coins and notes together.

More problem solving and
Counting Money activities.
