Learning Our Pepeha

At the end of last term we began to learn parts of our pepeha - how to introduce ourselves in Te Reo Maori. We can nearly all say 'hello' and 'my name is':

Tēnā Koutou  (greetings/hello to all)

Ko _________________ tōku ingoa  (my name)

We are now learning how to introduce our Mums and dads.

Ko _________________ tōku pāpā (my father)

Ko _________________ tōku māmā (my Mother)

I would love you to help your child practice at home. Next, we will be working on saying a special mountain and river. If you have one, please help your child to remember it - or send me a message on Seesaw.
